Awareness
The FACIAM network is committed to raising the visibility of homeless and street people. Since 1992, FACIAM has been part of an annual campaign whose focus on rights is central. We understand that access to rights for all people is the best way to prevent homelessness and exclusion. We want to convey the evidence that these situations do not respond to an individual problem, but to a social and structural one. We are committed to the absolute centrality of the person and open a space of visibility to people who live with us, to undo the stigma and exclusion. Along with this reality of exclusion in which homeless people live, we show their potential, their capacity for effort and overcoming when they are listened to and supported.
Objectives
Raising awareness and sensitizing
We invite society, administrations and the media to adopt a dignified and human rights-based approach to the reality of homelessness. We want to achieve citizen responses through empathy, mobilization and participation. We want to generate actions to influence society and to advocate with the different administrations.
Denouncing and questioning
Denounce and question the current socioeconomic model, which generates discarding and expulsions. We focus on specific facts and aspects of public policies that have the greatest impact on the most vulnerable and excluded people, the homeless.
Providing tools
To deepen the reality of homelessness as a vehicle for awareness, denunciation and advocacy.
